Event by Hard Knox Games and Donk Dood

5571 N. Dixie Hwy, Elizabethtown, KY, United States, Kentucky 42701

Duration: 2 days

This will be a tank-centric tournament and there will be some changes implemented to make Main Battle Tanks more attractive for this tournament.

125 points, Red vs Blue.

Maximum of 3 tank formations and ZERO Infantry Formations.

Rounds will be 150 minutes. Entry Fee: $50, all proceeds going to venue/logistics/print-on-demand service/trophies/ etc. with all remaining dollars going to prize support.
Players can sign up via the Hard Knox Games Website:

https://www.hardknoxgames.com/search/red+october/

The only units which will count towards formation morale are units which appear as part of the black box options (including grey box duplicates of those units and formation HQ). Eliminate those platoons to put the formation in Bad Spirits. The only units which score for victory points purposes (i.e. number of platoons lost) are these units. Scoring units that are still in reserves after round 6 or on table units which are not attempting to engage opposing units will not be considered as in Good Spirits for the purposes of Formation Morale checks. HQ units are ALWAYS considered in Good Spirits and are not subject to these changes...UNLESS THEY ARE STILL IN RESERVES AFTER ROUND 6. Not attempting to engage enemy units can be determined by common sense discussion at the table or with Tournament Organizer involvement, units which are guarding an objective are playing an active role in the battle whether they are directly engaging enemy units or not.

Other units may be taken as part of the formation or as support (including infantry units and air support) they will be able to fight in support of your objectives, but they will not be able to keep your formation on the table for morale purposes.

Because of the tank focus of the tournament, missions featuring Deep Reserves will just be considered as Reserves.

AMALGAMATED RESERVES: Players may group units together for their Reserve Rolls. Each successful reserve roll will consist of either A) up to 20 points worth of units, or B) any one unit totaling more than 20 points. In the event of scattered reserves all units will still scatter individually. At 125 points players will nominally have 50 points worth of reserves in those missions which require them.
You must use at least two stances each day.

We will use the extended missions list available at (https://www.battlefront-community.com/.../WWIII-Missions...) Because of the tank centric nature of the tournament we will not be using the published Defend/Defend Matrix selection...in the event of Defend/Defend missions will be selected from:

DEFEND/DEFEND
1 Collision
2 Confrontation
3 Dust Up
4 Encounter
5 King Of The Hill
6 Scouts Out

PLAYERS WILL develop a 75+ point MAIN FORCE list that will be used in all missions. Those MAIN FORCE lists will be made available to your opponent before players choose their stance.

PLAYERS MAY develop up to three stance based SUPPORT FORCE(S) of up to 50 points (the actual point total being whatever the difference is from the MAIN FORCE and the 125 point total). Once the Stance is revealed the appropriate SUPPORT FORCE list is provided to the opponent.
Participants are encouraged to be flexible with their army choice to make red-vs-blue happen. In the event of a lopsided event the goal will be for the lowest ranking scorers who have not already played a blue-vs-blue round to be matched with one another. Minor Nations may be asked to support one Faction or the other during the tournament to act as Red-vs-blue balance if we don't have enough switch-hitters.
A list of registered participants and their stated faction preference will be kept in the discussion thread for this event. In the event you have stated your intention to come to the event, but cannot please let us know so we can update it for other players consideration.
